Share Email Opening Apply Now Title O.H.S.O. Assistant Brewer  Position O.H.S.O. Assistant Brewer   Pay Range $20 an hour to start. Based of previous experience.   Description We are seeking an assistant cellar person/brewer to work across our three breweries; PV, Arcadia, and Gilbert. Tasks range from cleaning (all kinds), brewing, cellaring, packaging, and everything in between. We are looking for the type of individual that constantly thinks about processes and can think of creative solutions to interesting problems. This position is a flex spot that will get experience from all our brewing locations. Duties will vary by location from working on our 1.5 bbl system brewing with customers and the way up to production of a 20 bbl system at PV. Tasks will primarily be cellar focused (from keg cleaning to filtering) but brewing at each location will be needed as well. DUTIES Yeast handling and management Preventative maintenance on brewery equipment Tracking inventory such as raw materials and finished goods Wort production CIP of brewery tanks Fermentation management Maintain sanitary practices in all aspects of beer process Following all safety protocol concerning chemicals and hazards Flexibility in terms of hours and willingness to work nights, weekends, and maybe overtime Work a variety of beer festivals and other events when needed Cellar tasks and management (taking measurements, filtering (ask us what kind), racking, dosing, kegging, etc.)   About the Organization OHSO Brewery wants well qualified, energetic, and relentlessly happy people. This funky neighborhood hangout is sure to bring people together with good food, good beer and of course, dogs!   Category Production   Location OHSO Brewery (Paradise Valley)   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time and/or Part-Time   Position Requirements Basic understanding of chemical use for cleaning and sanitizing. Basic understanding of the fermentation, maturation, and post fermentation ingredient additions (dry hopping, fruiting, etc.) Ability to stoop, squat, kneel, and crawl for the purposes of collecting samples, data, and cleaning. Must be able to lift and transport items up to 55 lbs alone or 170 lbs as a team Stand and occasionally run short distances for 8+ straight hours Strong organizational habits and work ethic, self motivated, and ability to problem solve Working knowledge of Google Drive and must be able to use and learn various computer programs Working knowledge of chemistry and biology as it pertains to brewing science a bonus EXPERIENCE 2+ years in production brewery or brew pub.
