Summary/Objective
Come brew beer at one of the fastest growing and largest breweries in Iowa! Our Iowa City location is looking to add to the team. Our production has grown tremendously over the last couple years and we are opening a new production facility on the east side of Iowa City. It is fun to be a part of this brewing team as we are constantly pushing to innovate, have very high standards for quality and brew all sorts of different styles of beers. It is challenging and rewarding.

Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Ability to perform and troubleshoot all functions of the brewery and cellar per standard operating procedures, including but not limited to, raw ingredient handling, wort production, yeast management, dry-hopping, barrel handling, clarification, clean-in-place systems, quality assurance, record keeping, and general cleaning and maintaining Brewhouse Area including Boiler Room and Mill Room.
- Maintain equipment and operating systems, including CIPing Brewhouse, HEX and KO hoses to ensure proper working conditions and perform preventative maintenance as directed.
- Ensure a safe work environment through safe work habits, understanding of risks, compliance with regulations, and following corrective action plans for any identified safety hazards and risks as directed by brewery management.
- Communicates any known mechanical, raw material, and/or beer quality issues to brewery management immediately.
- Follow corrective action plans as needed to ensure all core beers match the established quality standards as directed.
- Report, evaluate and interpret wort and beer quality daily, including analytical results, process consistency, and taste. Implement changes to improve processes, recipes, beer flavor and consistency as directed. Dump Trub, Pitch Yeast and record all Brewhouse Measurements.
- Ensure that Production areas are always clean and organized. Organize and Rotate Hop and Grain inventories.
- Always be looking for improvements.

Work Environment
This position operates in a hospitality/ brewery environment. This role routinely uses cleaning chemicals, works in an unconditioned space with steam and boiling liquids and works with power equipment.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 160 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and hours of work/ days may vary from week to week. Schedules will be posted the week prior to allow time for employee’s to be informed of work requirements. The business is open 7 days a week. Expected hours are 40 to 50 hours a week and you must be available to work flexible hours; including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Travel
Travel may be expected occasionally in this position.
Preferred Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of related experience or training in a production brewery environment
- Passionate about craft beer
