Manor Hill Brewing is looking for a Taproom General Manager to oversee and manage our taproom team and our overall farm experience.

Located on a picturesque 54-acre working farm in Ellicott City, Manor Hill Farm is home to Manor Hill Brewing… Howard County’s first, and Maryland’s largest, farm brewery. Our brewing team uses high quality ingredients to craft exciting and approachable beers across both new and traditional styles.

In order to achieve their goals, the Taproom General Manager will work hand-in-hand with ownership and brewery management.  

Responsibilities Include:

• Manage the Taproom staff, which includes hiring, scheduling, training, steps of service, etc.

• Be present at the Farm as manager-on-duty for all weekend shifts and weekday private events as they occur. 

• Oversee the planning, logistics and execution of events held at the Farm (food truck visits, festivals, craft fairs, beer releases, etc) under our agritourism license.

• Coordinate with private event hosts for pre-site visits, and day of logistics. 

• Manage merchandise and supplies inventory.

• Manage POS system (Square) and online menus (Untappd).

• Ensure that the Taproom and Farm are in good working order to start each Monday work week.

• Supervise and/or perform ongoing general maintenance of draught beer equipment and Taproom facilities.

• Serve as taproom liaison to sales team and brewing team by sharing voice of the customer at bi-weekly sales/management meetings.

• Respond to guest emails/questions/inquiries in a timely manner.


Skills / Experience:

• A passion for craft beer, and a love for customer service!

• Excellent communication skills

• 3-5 years experience managing a team in the beer/bar/restaurant industry

• STARS or similar Certification a plus

• Strong project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to think on your feet.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with restaurant POS systems or similar software as needed (direct experience with Square a plus).

• Available Weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) when Farm is open to the public.

• Availability for occasional weekday evening events (less than 1 per week).

• Physically able to bend over, twist, kneel, and lift 55 pounds

• Able to stand for long periods of time
