Shoreline Brewery in Michigan City, IN is looking for an experienced and hardworking individual to fill the role of Brewer/Cellarman and assist with packaging runs.

JOB DESCRIPTION Duties:

-Maintain a clean brewhouse and brewery area

-Safely follow detailed SOPs for cleaning and packaging

-Assist brewer with developing/refining SOPs

-Be willing to learn

-Clean, sanitize, and organize kegs

-Clean draft lines

-Organize & clean walk-in coolers

-Organization of brewery equipment, supplies, and ancillary items

-Assist in brewing of wort

-Assist brewer with day-to-day tasks

-CIP (clean-in-place) of fermentation vessels, brite tanks, serving tanks and other equipment while following all safety guidelines.

-Transfer beer from fermentation vessel to brite tanks and/or serving vessels

-Kegging beer off of brite tanks and serving vessels

-Follow/maintain/develop sanitary practices in all aspects of beer processing

-Assist with external events such as tap takeovers, beer festivals, and other marketing related events

-Assist in packaging

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

-Preferred six months working in a brewery

-Basic understanding of brewing concepts (basic brewing and fermentation concepts)

-Strong organizational habits, a self-motivated work ethic, detail oriented, and good critical thinking/problem solving skills.

-Forklift Experience a plus

-Ability to work both alone as well as with the rest of the team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

-Ability to stand/walk on hard surfaces for an entire shift

-Willingness to work in wet/hot/cold conditions

-Ability to work safely with potentially hazardous chemicals

-Ability to move up to 160 pounds (roll/hand truck) and lift up to 60 lbs.

-Willingness to adhere to all PPE (personal protective equipment) requirements and follow all SOP and safety protocols without question

Pay: Salary 35k to 45k based on experience
