JOB OUTLINE:

  • Assist with In-house guest-driven events: Coordinate in-house events with guests, groups/clubs, corporations, etc. Respond to event inquiries, wedding inquiries, etc. and manage some of the back and forth between receiving an event request and executing an awesome party. Be on-site for in-house events to make sure they run smoothly.
  • Assist with in-house public events such as comedy, readings, music, etc. Help with booking, promoting, promotional materials, making sure events are prominently advertised. Communicate upcoming events with staff. Help liase with performers, make sure they’re happy. Help book performers, suggest new ideas, collect all info and meet regularly with Upper Management + Restaurant Management to discuss and share all goings-on in order to best promote as a team.
  • Assist with out-of-house-events: Attend Events as Dock Street face/representation when required; Following through on events you plan/coordinate, be there to ensure things are running smoothly on some/most occasions; Drop off beer, taps, supplies as needed. 
  • General Assisting: Assist Events Manager (Renata Certo-Ware) on items pertaining to events (in-house and out-of-house) as needed - picking up supplies, decorations, equipment, specialty food items not made in house if applicable, etc.

DUTIES:

  • Answering emails and following up
  • Drafting and executing event contracts + collecting event deposits
  • Communicate to management/staff what events are coming up and what is needed.
  • Assist with making promotional materials and make sure we have all the AV equipment, serving equipment, etc. for all events planned
  • Working on-site during events as the on-site coordinator/helping hand to set up the space as needed for each event and directing FOH staff to assist, make sure decor and food platters/serving equipment is in place, welcoming guests, answering questions from the host/entertainers.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 20-30hrs/week to start
  • Access to a laptop you can bring to work
  • Ability to be on-site several days a week as needed
  • Access to a car is a major plus but is not required.
  • People skills and a “yes” attitude - this is a customer-facing job and guests are the top priority, even if they don’t end up booking with us.
  • Being friendly, professional, and organized is a must!
