The Security Ranger is responsible for the security and safety of Highland Brewing’s staff, guests, and campus while on duty. This individual needs to be self-motivated and will proactively monitor campus amenities including but not limited to parking lots, trails, disc golf course, volleyball courts, event and taproom facilities. The Security Ranger works together with the Hospitality and Facilities departments acting as an ambassador for Highland while fulfilling the essential duties of the position.

Essential Job Functions

  • Patrols brewery amenities on foot or Utility Task Vehicle (UTV)
  • Welcomes Highland guests by engaging them and offering assistance or direction, contributing to the overall welcoming and quality experience Highland strives to deliver.
  • Assists with traffic control as needed
  • Enforces company policies as they pertain to guest conduct, including alcohol laws on the campus and completes detailed incident reports
  • Use 2-way radios and cell phone as necessary to stay in contact with hospitality and management, cell stipend provided
  • Assists Hospitality Manager on duty and other hospitality staff in de-escalating tense or threatening situations with guests
  • Performs other duties as needed


This position is 35-40 hours, five days per week, mostly evenings. Weekend availability is a must.



  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be at least 21 years of age


  • Minimum of 1 year security or relevant experience, preferably in the beer/alcohol industry
  • Conflict resolution or de-escalation training is preferred

  • Strong work ethic and ability to take initiative on security related issues while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor
  • Pleasant yet assertive personality with the ability to work with all types of people
  • Open minded and flexible with the ability to adapt quickly with new skills and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal communication and leadership with a keen attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and verbal/written communication skills a must
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications including Teams is preferred

Working Conditions:

As this position is working in a brewery, the physical demands of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Standing for long periods of time
  • Bending, twisting, reaching overhead, lifting up to 30lbs frequently & up to 50lbs occasionally
  • Working in both indoor and outdoor service areas with inclement weather at times

At-Will Employment: Employment with Highland Brewing Co. may be terminated by either Highland or the employee at any time with or without cause or notice.
