Job Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties are typical for this position.   • Ensure at all times operating principles are being adhered to:
  • Clean – Keep all areas clean and pristine, to include shelves, Panini press, microwave, food preparation spaces, soup pots, meat slicer, and refrigeration.
  • Safe – Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Friendly - Use customer courtesy skills to provide superior guest service.
  • Fun – Have fun! Be interactive with all internal and external guests while maintaining professional standards. Use your creativity to help us change and grow our menu!
  • Interact with all guests and employees to positively affect the guest/employee experience. Demonstrate resiliency dealing with difficult guests in all types of business conditions. Work effectively and courteously with fellow employees. Promote teamwork with fellow employees
  • Responsible for following proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
  • Assumes 100 % responsibility for the preparation quality and presentation of products served.
  • Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the safety and security of guests and employees.
  • Inventories stock to assist in maintaining sufficient levels of food products to assure a smooth service period
  • Maintains sufficient levels of food products to assure a smooth service period.
  • Handles, stores and rotates all products properly. 
  • Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
  • Follows recipes and preparation steps to assure consistent and high quality product.
  • Closes kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist
  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
  • Provides creative ideas for new menu items or specials and assists in the creation or improvement of menu items.
  • Provides constructive feedback on current menu items and food preparation methods.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Taproom Manager

Essential Functions

  • Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, Turbo Chef, mixer, Panini press, food processor, microwave, soup pots, refrigeration, and meat slicer.
  • Ability to work independently with little direction.
  • Ability to observe and to give appropriate feedback.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and all levels of employees.
  • Ability to perform assigned job duties under frequent time pressure in an interruptive environment.
  • Availability to work scheduled work days, any days of the week, varied work schedules and holidays.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and follow instructions.
  • Ability to work well with other people in a timely manner, according to standards.
  • Always maintain a pleasant, friendly, and welcoming attitude at all times
  • Knowledge of all menu items, prices and general service procedures. 

 Qualifications and Experience

The following generally describes the knowledge and ability required to enter the job and/or be learned within a short period of time in order to successfully perform the assigned duties.

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent. 
  • Good oral communications skills.
  • Must be able to work well with others and respond to people in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to receive and maintain all required certification.
  • Must possess basic computational ability.
  • Must possess basic food related skills.
  • Must complete all required company training

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a Pub and Kitchen setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate kitchen and bar equipment, requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

  • Ability to stand, bend and move for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift (up to 50 lbs.).
