 Buoy Beer Company is seeking a Brewer (FT) to take ownership and pride in creating amazing beers, including our traditionally made European lagers and NW inspired ales. We’re a hard-working and growing operation and are looking for the right person to grow with us. The ideal candidate will be flexible, open to learning, a team player and takes ownership of their work.

You will work with our entire team, under the direction of our Head Brewer and Lead Brewer(s) to brew beers for distribution throughout Oregon & Washington and utilize our pilot system to come up with creative new beers. We are also looking to expand our foeder and BA offerings.

Along with knowing your way around a brewery, fitting in with our team and town are the most important aspects to us. You should be able to enjoy life with us, but also work hard in what has been a constantly evolving brewery.

Job Overview:

  • Brewing and Cellaring duties on our 3 vessel 20bbl American Made Brewhouse, which is expanding to a 4 vessel 50bbl in 2021.
  • Brewing and Cellaring duties on our 3bbl pilot brewery, including developing new recipes.
  • Assist with running our barrel and sour programs.
  • Support packaging team duties (kegging, in-house canning line, bottling).
  • Assist the warehouse team and work with our full time QA/QC lab tech.

Typical duties & requirements:

  • Professional brewing experience and/or related degree a must
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and nights
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as with a diverse team of people
  • Brewing is a physical job - Able to lift 55 lbs. repeatedly, bend, work in tight places and in elevated spaces.
  • Prepared to work in various climates, in- and outdoors (wet, windy, hot,…)
  • Forklift certified or experienced is a plus
  • Experience with Orchestrated Beer (OBeer) software or similar brewing software is a huge plus
  • Take pride in our sustainable practices (recycling, waste reduction, etc.)
