Job Summary

We are looking for an organized and flexible person with strong management skills and an appreciation for craft beer to join our team as the Head of Packaging. In this position, you are responsible for the administrative components of the Packaging Department. You will work with the Director of Brewing Operations to ensure timeline and production deadlines are met. You will also work with the Art Coordinator to ensure packaging labels are ordered on time to meet production timelines. Additionally you will write and update SOP’s, scheduling, and ensure release needs are met with the Distribution Coordinator.

Job Responsibilities

  • Primarily responsible for the all administration responsibilities of the Packaging department
  • Ensures that all materials for packaging needs are ordered and in inventory timely (Cans and canning materials, Bottles and Materials, Kegs, Labels, etc) 
  • Oversees QC of all packaged beers ensuring finished product meets company standards
  • Works seamlessly with Director of Brewing Operations to ensure timeline and production deadlines are met 
  • Works with Art Coordinator regularly to make sure brand art is produced to meet production Timelines and that packaging materials are arriving in time to hit production schedules
  • Manages Packaging Team across multiple locations and writes weekly schedule
  • Communicates to team members daily with scheduling changes and manpower disbursement
  • Ensures that regularly scheduled maintenance is in place for all packaging equipment
  • Works with manufacturers to ensure best prices available are being attained
  • Writes and updates SOP’s for equipment and procedures for packaging dept
  • Organizes tasks in order of priority and assigns to necessary staff 
  • Reports clear, accurate and timely results from packaging runs and enters into company tracking software 
  • Manages packaging material spending and expense reports 
  • Proposes equipment upgrades to improve quality and efficiency 
  • Organizes with Distribution Coordinator to ensure release needs are met and supplies are at appropriate packaging facility 
  • Works on the floor as is needed to accomplish packaging needs of Company
  • Operates canning and bottling lines when needed for training or production needs
  • Communicates well throughout the company both in person and within company software
  • Works to ensure a healthy and communicative environment both in the packaging department and between other relative departments 

Job Qualifications

  • Must be able to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination
  • Strong people management skills 
  • Ability to multitask and troubleshoot 
  • Skilled with prioritization of labor needs 
  • Experience and familiarity with Wild Goose canning and bottling systems 
  • Ability to plan and organize 
  • High level of communication using company systems 
  • High level of documentation and record-keeping 
  • Flexibility at the highest level 
  • Ability to lead through example and steward company core values 
  • Proficient with Word, Sheets, ekos 
  • High level of communication and follow through in dealing with vendors 
  • Operates with a high level of accountability and professionalism for themselves and their team 
  • Comfortable accepting and giving constructive criticism 
  • Capable of compassionate leadership
