Position Overview:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the reliability and uptime of equipment throughout the brewery so that we can produce our world class beverages to the highest quality standards. 

Working Relationships: 

This position reports to the Maintenance Manager. This person collaborates with Brewing, Packaging, Quality Assurance, Planning and Logistics, Finance and Equipment Vendors.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Performing preventive maintenance as well as electrical/mechanical troubleshooting on all brewery equipment 
  • Working with an assigned team to review work, set priorities, and schedule maintenance repairs 
  • Entering and completing work orders by logging actions and findings in an accurate and timely fashion in a maintenance program 
  • Quickly diagnosing source of failures and making emergency repairs to all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic systems as needed to return them to service and minimize production downtime 
  • Assisting production staff through direction, training, and assistance 
  • Assisting brewery operations in setting up equipment and making running adjustments to maintain maximum efficiency including annually auditing assigned equipment to improve or develop PM’s, troubleshooting guides and using standard operating procedures 
  • Ensuring equipment is set up, maintained, and operated to allow for safe packaging of quality product 
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly work area and returning tools, equipment, and supplies to the appropriate storage areas after each assignment 
  • Handling a large workload with multiple preventive and repair tasks/projects 
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Must have an electrical/mechanical background with 2-5 years of experience setting up and servicing packaging equipment, as well as basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills 
  • In depth knowledge of hydraulics, belt systems, motors and other industrial machinery
  • Millwright skills preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and blueprints
  • Competent with root cause analysis (RCA) and elimination for equipment failures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and food handling fundamentals
  • Proficient in computer software such as the MS Office suite, and CMMS
  • Ability to safely and competently work on and around potentially hazardous equipment, machinery and systems
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently within a team environment
  • Takes ownership and initiative
  • Must have a flexible schedule and ability to work a rotating on-call schedule for after-hour emergency repair
  • Attitude: Positive, team oriented and results driven with a good sense of humor.

Machinery, Tools, Equipment, and PPE

  • This position may use: Electric Pallet Jack, Mechanical Pallet Jack, Mechanical Tote Lift, Fork Lift, Pocket Knife/Box Cutter, DIN Spanner Wrench, Assorted Wrenches and Screw Drivers, Rubber Mallet, Safety Glasses, Safety-toe, slip-resistant boots, dust mask/respirator, chemical/heat resistant gloves, face shield, bump cap.

  • While performing the duties of this position, this position may be exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions, including but not limited to; extreme heat, potential for physical injury, exposure to hot fluids, pressurized vessels and transfer lines, strong odors, chemicals, loud regular noise, extreme heights, and moving machinery.
