Brewer
Brewers at Faubourg Brewing Company operate our 100-barrel fully-automated, 15-barrel semi-automated, and 2-barrel manually-operated brewhouses! Aspects and tasks of operating these systems include raw material handling, wort creation, yeast handling, maintenance and record keeping and cleaning, fermentation monitoring, dry hopping, fruit or flavor additions, centrifugation and clarification, carbonation, pasteurization, and cleaning-in-place (CIP).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Learns and masters milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, whirlpooling, and knocking out on all three of the production systems at Faubourg Brewery
- Will learn the computerized systems at the Brewery to operate all cellar equipment
- Assist the rest of the brewing team to achieve desired goals along with production targets
- Complete brewing tasks keeping in mind good manufacturing practices and systems as outlined by Faubourg Brewing Company.
- Work closely with the Brewmaster, Quality Assurance Manager, and Director of Brewing Operations to achieve quality-driven goals.
- Keep accurate records of tasks
- Will have to handle occasional hazardous chemicals
- Maintain all workplace areas to the cleanliness standards of the Brewery
- Contribute to product development and overall improvement of the Brewery
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years of brewing or brewery production experience
- General knowledge of brewing at all different scales of operation
- Professional brewing certificate or education preferred
