Nomadic Beerworks in Austin, TX is looking for an experienced brewer to join our production team.

This role requires knowledge and experience in wort production, cellar tasks, packaging, warehousing, and mechanical troubleshooting. We are a small team but are growing quickly and need someone with a growth mindset.

This is a salaried full time position and includes PTO benefits. Please send your resume with references to:



General cleaning and sanitation

CIP tanks and equipment

Daily gravity and pH readings

Transfer beer between vessels and carbonate

Dry hop

Harvest yeast and perform yeast cell counts 

Log and use data to make decisions about beer readiness

Wort Production:

Weigh and mill grain for brew day

Operate 7 bbl brewhouse

Accurately produce wort to spec 

ClP brewhouse and heat exchanger

Pitch yeast and/or enzymes 

Create recipes and operate 1 bbl pilot system


Set up and sanitize keg packaging lines

Keg-off beer and log quantities

Can/bottle small batches of specialty beers 

Operate single head semi-auto keg washer


Load and organize walk-in beer cooler 

Clean and maintain grain storage and mill area

Organize empty keg storage 

Assist other employees as necessary

Knowledge and Skills:

Good organization skills and thought processes

Effectively managing one’s own time

Strong communication skills with peers and works as team member

Good judgment with the ability to troubleshoot problems

Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities 

Listen and understand information and ideas as presented

Maintain a high level of attention to detail



Brewing science degree or minimum 2 years professional brewing experience

Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, word processing) 

Prior recipe development experience preferred but not required

TABC and food handler’s certification (We will provide training if needed) 

Must be at least 21 years of age

Position may require occasional weekend and/or evening work


Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

Stand and/or sit for long periods of time and walk; use fingers, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands; talk and hear; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, twist, bend and crouch.

The employee must occasionally lift or carry up to 60 pounds. Use of arms above the shoulder is sometimes required. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Requires manual dexterity and ability to quickly move hands, grasp, manipulate or assemble.
