Essential Functions and Duties

Human Resource Leadership and Execution

  • Responsible for developing, coordinating and executing all human resource functions across the company
  • Engaged in leading the company’s strategic goals and supports the company’s stated values and Triple Bottom Line initiatives
  • Work closely with the senior management team in assuring coordinated effort in implementing strategies and realizing company objectives
  • Hire, supervise, coach, develop, and motivate direct reports, focusing on recruiting and retaining top performers
  • Establish and ensure consistent application of HR programs, policies and practices used throughout the company
  • Develop and manage budgets related to HR expenses
  • Serve on brewery’s leadership team as an integral contributor to company action and strategy

Compensation and Benefits

  • Responsible for ensuring an appropriate and competitive benefits package as well as overseeing plan administration
  • Manage the compensation structure and strategy, the variable pay programs, as well as the performance review process
  • Lead ESOP committee and develop an active understanding of ESOP program in order to educate employees.

Recruiting and Organizational Development

  • Responsible for the oversight and execution of the recruiting strategy and process to ensure hiring top-notch candidates (both internally and externally)
  • Work closely with Talent Acquisition Specialist and managers to determine appropriate staffing (including planning for future years)
  • Assess training and development budgets for departments throughout company and allocate based on need.
  • Manage the performance review process.

Employee Relations and Compliance

  • Seek out opportunities to enhance employee engagement and advance the company culture, while promoting and celebrating all aspects of GLBC’s DNA 
  • Responsible for driving positive employee/labor relations and monitoring and ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Act as an impartial advocate to ensure that all individuals receive fair and equitable treatment
  • Ensure effective company-wide communications
  • Act as a guide and lead efforts focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Labor Relations or similar major/equivalent work experience

Work Experience

Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in all aspects of human resources, with increasing responsibility which includes managing others

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with effectively recruiting and retaining top talent
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines and adjust to changing priorities
  • Extensive experience overseeing payroll, compensation management and benefit administration
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of labor and employment laws and other HR concepts
  • Experience with leading and directing the work and motivating others
  • Ability to work ethically and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
  • Proven ability to create and implement policies/programs and influence change
  • Computer savvy and proficient with Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience managing and guiding a department

Preferred Qualifications

  • PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP certification
  • Prior experience with organizational design/development
  • Familiarity with payroll software, prior experience utilizing Paycom is a plus
  • Prior experience utilizing an applicant tracking system
  • Prior experience developing and initiating programs with Diversity Equity and Inclusion Fields
