Position Purpose:

To continuously develop Catalyst production employees and processes to meet the production goals of the department, ensuring a safe, healthy, and enriching work environment for those you lead.

Activities and Outcomes:

Production

  • Ensure beer is being made to the highest possible standards and quality metrics are being adhered to
  • Ensure SOPs are created, documented, followed, and edited as appropriate
  • Maintain the brewing schedule and calendar, optimizing for production goals and efficiencies
  • Coordinate raw materials as needed to meet production schedule and brand calendar established by Catalyst leadership
  • Oversee maintenance program for production spaces and ensure PM’s are met
  • Ensure GMP’s are followed and provide a safe working environment
  • Contribute to growth and development plans with the development of tools like budgets, production forecasts, and CAPEX plans
  • Connect with industry partners on supply chain opportunities (e.g. optimizing hop orders, new raw material sourcing, etc.)
  • Develop an internal, employee-driven pilot program
  • Ensure O-Beer is maintained and up to date for Snow Tire production

Budget Management

  • Expense Management:
  • Monitors monthly budget and provide feedback on cost savings initiatives
  • Work in collaboration with the Business Operations team tracking against monthly expenses vs budget
  • Request and approve purchase orders for CAPEX items and advise on AOP budgets and CAPEX expenditure
  • Project Cost Tracking
  • Orders and tracks material and equipment purchased ensuring deliveries are on time
  • Meet with vendors and evaluate quotes for production improvements
  • Make recommendations by reviewing past production reports and data collection

Leadership

  • Developing leaders
  • Fight for the highest possible good in the lives of those you lead

  • Evaluate and address the tendencies or patterns that undermine your team members’ influence with others
  • Foster an enriching and positive work environment for the Snow Tire production crew
  • Lead Snow Tire team members to be strong leaders, problem solvers, and contributing members to the Catalyst production goals
  • Lead educational field trips to visit suppliers, industry partners, and other breweries
  • Connect Snow Tire production team to other Catalyst departments for cross-functional collaboration when appropriate (e.g. cask cellaring and installation with FOH)
  • Maintain performance plans for team members, checking in to ensure goals are met and proper support and challenge is applied
  • Maintain healthy work relationships with “shared services” departments
  • Develop and execute an efficient small brewery production cross training program
  • Self Leadership
  • Develop an efficient time management system utilizing Asana allowing for engaging time with your people and simultaneous project management
  • Maintain a healthy work/life balance, have strong systems and leaders in place that allow for confident check out time
