Quality Assurance Microbiologist

We are a leading food manufacturer that seeks an experienced Microbiologist to work our 12-hour, 7am-7pm, AWW (2-2-3) work schedule. The successful candidate will support the Director of Quality by ensuring safety, product quality, and execution of food safety programs. Key areas of responsibility are microbiological sampling, plating and reading, and preparing media, and plates. Responsible for yeast propagation and testing, fermentation processes and lab testing, PCR rapid microbiological testing, inventory and ordering of supplies, calibration of equipment, aseptic technique, data entry and generating customer and internal reports, incubation of samples, use of the autoclave, ATP testing, equipment cleaning, validation and verification.
Ability to communicate with customers, vendors, and key leadership team members. Directs union personnel as needed. Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in Microsoft Office. Knowledge/experience in the beverage industry a plus, including GMP’s, food safety, and HACCP. Previous experience in Quality, with experience in the food industry preferred. Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience in manufacturing required.
