Position Summary:

Our brewers operate all aspects of our 15-barrel brewing system. Aspects of this system include milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, hop additions, whirlpool, and wort cooling. In addition, the brewer is responsible for pre- and post-cleaning and sanitation of all transfer lines and vessels. The brewer also is responsible for cellar tasks including, but not limited to: yeast pitching, filtration, beer transfers, tank CIPs, various fermentation additions, maintenance of parts and hoses, and the filling of kegs. The brewer will also be required to assist with packaging, which includes running the canning line, filling kegs and preparing packaged beer for shipment. Brewers works shifts of varying lengths. Brew-days may consist of longer shifts up to 10 hours, while packaging and cellaring shifts may be shorter shifts. The brewer is expected to be punctual, self-motivated, and contribute within a teamwork environment.

Job Requirements:

  • Wort production on our Premier Stainless 15bbl brewhouse
  • CIP of brewhouse, fermentation, and bright tanks
  • Prepare, mill in grains and weigh out hops for brewing
  • Transfer beer to and from fermentation tanks, bright tanks, kegs
  • Miscellaneous cellar operations including yeast handling and pitching, dry hopping, CIP, and general cleaning and sanitation
  • Assist with packaging beer as needed on canning days
  • Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and on time
  • Input all necessary information in Ekos daily.
  • Maintain yeast disposal/harvest, and grain area cleanup
  • Keg inventory management, and keg cleaning
  • Assist in daily prioritization and collaboration with Packaging Lead, and brew/cellar team.
  • Assist in development of SOP’s and keeping SOP’s current.
  • Keeps brewery cleanliness up to standards.
  • Assures that brewery maintenance is up to date and complete.
  • Entering and updating data within Ekos daily.
  • Keg cleaning
  • Working with the Director of Brewing on recipe & product development
  • Work to make processes as efficient as possible

  • Ability to work all shifts, including traditional work days, mid or swing shift and weekends if needed.
  • Capable of standing on your feet for long periods of time, up to 10 hours per day
  • Must have reliable transportation to work
  • Physical capability of regularly lifting up to 55 lbs to shoulder height and maneuvering 165 lbs, comfortable working at heights, in cramped spaces and awkward positions, and in hot or cold environments for an extended period of time
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment
  • Capable of following all safety procedures while working with potentially hazardous machinery, chemicals with the proper PPE and safeguards in place.
  • Stands, walks, crouches, and lifts regularly throughout duration of shift, including continual dragging carrying, and manipulation of hoses, pumps, carts, buckets, carts, tools, and reservoirs
  • Must be able to perform continuous bending, twisting, stooping, reaching and lifting of moderate to heavy weight material up to 165 lb
  • Must be able to work standing for extended periods.
  • Must be able to interpret specifications, convert tables, and make calculations
  • Follow and comply with all brewery SOP’s, terms and conditions as stated in the Employee Handbook
