POSITION SUMMARY 

The Dishwasher is an integral part of the kitchen, responsible for ensuring all dishware, smallwares, and cooking utensils are efficiently cleaned and sanitized to the Executive Chef and health officials’ standards. This position must maintain a clean and organized dishwashing station as well as assist in maintaining an overall clean and organized kitchen.   

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Exemplify and promote safety in all aspects of the Kitchen  

• Adheres to and enforces strict cleaning and sanitization guidelines in relation to CDC and local health department guidelines

• Responsible for maintenance, set up, close, and quality control of all items on their station 

• Wash dishes, flatware, pots, or pans, using dishwasher, or by hand, in accordance with standards set by the Executive Chef, UCBC, and health officials

• Place and organize clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas 

• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition 

• Stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations and storage areas 

• Sweep or scrub floors 

• Clean garbage cans with water and soap 

• Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas 

• Other duties as needed to accomplish organizational goals 

• Assist with internal and external festivals and events as needed  

• Serve as an ambassador for the company  

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

• Hepatitis A vaccination record

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

• Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation and of operating all ware washing equipment 

• Ability to read and comprehend labels on chemicals 

• Ability to communicate effectively with Kitchen and Taste Room staff 

• Must be at least 21 years old

  • Hazards include slips, falls, cuts, and burns 
  • Exposure to hot and cold temperatures
