The Role:

Reporting to the Production Director and Director of Brewing Operations, Jack’s Abby is in need of a Lead Brewer who will be responsible for the day to day brewing, training and troubleshooting of our 60 bbls CFT brewhouse. 

Job Responsibilities Include

  • Yeast management
  • Assigning lager yeast to brews per week
  • Scheduling Props (ale/lager)
  • Working with the Director of Brewing Operations and Production Director to 
  • Assign tanks to brew 
  • Make sure weekly program is scheduled correctly
  • Monitoring boiler and boiler chemicals
  • Schedule spent grain pickups
  • Schedule pilot grain hopper pickups
  • Monitoring the air compressor 
  • Order O2 from Middlesex Gases
  • Make sure brewing data is being inputted properly and in a timely manner into Ekos 
  • Recipe additions
  • Other brew related data management
  • Training and Support
  • Train all new brewers on brewhouse operations
  • Support and manage cellar/packaging team as needed when other leads are not available
  • Record any issues with the brew house and communicate them with Treesse
