Brewer
A Ten Bends brewer is integral to our beer manufacturing operation in Hyde Park, Vermont. This team member will be responsible for following established SOP’s to perform tasks relating to producing our distinct ales and lagers crafted in small batches. The ideal candidate is a team-oriented person with a positive outlook and an understanding that there is always something more to learn about making the highest quality beer possible. In addition, this person must be reliable, hard-working, and possess empathy and exceptional leadership qualities while demonstrating strong organizational skills and the upmost attention to detail. For this position, we offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience.
Duties include:
- Producing wort
- Yeast handling and pitching
- Monitoring of fermentation
- Transferring and carbonating beer
- Brewhouse and tank cleaning
- General facility cleaning and maintenance
- Using software to maintain inventory and recipe specifications
- Ordering raw materials from suppliers
- Conducting product evaluation to maintain consistent quality
- Maintaining brewery logs for federal and state compliance
- Working packaging runs and packing out cases of cans
- Adhering to all safety procedures and company policies
- Contributing to the professional development of other staff
- Performing maintenance on brewery equipment
- Performing general cleaning of the facility

- Cicerone certification

Requirements
- At least one year of experience brewing professionally
- Knowledge of plumbing, brewery mechanics, and processes
- Proficiency with craft beer styles and trends
- Understanding of beer ingredients, recipes, gravities, and incorporating adjuncts
- Physical ability to perform laborious tasks
- Knowledge of Google Suite and working with spreadsheets
- General ability to work with various software
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license
