Get to Know This Role

The Assistant Brewer is an introductory role in Sierra Nevada's Brewing Department. The Assistant Brewer position consists of following of standard operating procedures, raw materials handling and staging, inventory management, data entry, sanitation and other duties as assigned. Duties must be performed with high-level attention to detail while maintaining Sierra Nevada safety standards and sanitary excellence.

What You Will Do

  • Accurate staging of materials and ingredients for Brewing Department as defined by recipes
  • Hot-side and Cold-side hop charge set-up and management
  • Housekeeping and sanitation
  • Receiving, off-loading & stocking of production raw materials
  • Inventory control, data entry, and lot tracking (FIFO)
  • Maintenance and rebuild of hardware
  • COP (clean out of place) and CIP (clean in place) of dirty hardware and vessels
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

  • Ability to maintain a safe work environment
  • Ability and willingness to positively contribute to a team-focused department
  • Ability to maintain a strict attention to detail, a passion for accuracy, and a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) are desired
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with little direct supervision is desired
  • Forklift Certification preferred

Additional Requirements to Consider Before Applying

  • You must be at least 21 years of age to work for Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.
  • Selected candidate must pass a pre-employment, post offer background check.
  • Candidate must be able to work rotating shifts (day, swing, graveyard). Shifts rotate monthly.
