Territory Manager - Maine/New England
Overall Description: The Territory Manager – Maine/New England is based in the state of Maine and is responsible for fostering good relations with key accounts, new business development and inspiring our wholesalers to responsibly sell our beer. Territory covers ME, NH, VT and other regions as assigned. Will be expected to meet annual volume targets. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Do what’s right.
- Protect the brand
- Build, maintain and strengthen relationships with wholesaler and account personnel
- Educate external partners on the history of the brand, quality standards and our do good through great beer philosophy
- Develop meaningful new business in a responsible way
- Manage wholesaler inventory and properly address any concerns
- Analyze sales data and prioritize business opportunities
- Generate a sales strategy for assigned territory that aligns with the company’s goals
- Assist at all special events and festivals as assigned
- Perform administrative tasks and additional duties as assigned
- Always maintain a professional image and demeanor
- Communicate effectively and frequently
- Don’t break the law
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 or over to apply
- Must have reliable transportation and be able to operate a vehicle
- Honesty, professionalism, and comfort speaking one-on-one and in public forums
- Self-starter, ability to work autonomously and complete tasks with limited direct supervision
- A minimum of two years’ experience in the craft beer industry, either working in a sales capacity for a distributor or directly for a brewery highly preferred
- Deep knowledge of the three-tier distribution system
- Excellent organizational, planning, project management, and sales skills
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
- Proficient with Mac OS & Microsoft Office
- Must be able to maintain business-like behavior during and after the consumption of alcohol
- Must be able to lift 24lb cases and 60lb kegs
- Extensive travel required within territory that will involve frequent overnights, weekends and occasional travel outside territory as needed.
- Certified Cicerone and/or Certified Beer Server a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record a must
