SUMMARY

The Packaging Supervisor will be responsible for development and implementation of processes, projects, and training efforts that drive continuous and sustained improvements in packaging operations. Additionally, the Packaging Supervisor will be responsible for managing the packaging/filling and kegging staff to ensure that we meet production goals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Daily support to achieve packaging department goals including line support as needed
  • Ensure a safe working environment for all employees, reporting safety concerns, near misses, and violations
  • Scheduling line operators, resolving any gaps in line schedules due to vacation, illness or other absence, ensuring appropriate break coverage etc.
  • Optimize process improvements and initiative
  • Calculate actual costs and waste
  • Ensure OSHA standards are adhered to and proper PPE is worn in all production areas
  • Manage weekly production schedules through coordinating with Brewing Team and Production Team
  • Lead and develop all team members, including training, coaching conversations and discipline as necessary
  • Manage maintenance on all equipment by communicating with the Maintenance Department to minimize down-times and maximize output
  • Generate standard operating procedures for equipment operations, troubleshooting, and cleaning and incorporating into training program and current operations
  • Work closely with QA to ensure all standards are upheld in the finished products
  • Ensure all cleaning and sanitizing processes are adhered to in all production areas
  • Perform other duties as required

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of packaging experience
  • Technical experience with packaging equipment
  • 3+ years of Management experience
  • Demonstrate strong problem solving/analytical ability
  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills
  • Written/verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of packaging and beverage equipment and line operations
  • Understanding of packaging benchmarks
  • Demonstrate ability to be successful in a collaborative team environment
  • Highly effective multi-tasker
  • Ability to impact and effect positive change with flexible, open-minded, positive approach
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation practices
  • Knowledge of all SOPS and company procedures and policies
  • Flexibility
  • Sense of urgency
  • Fork lift certified
  • Ability to lift 50+lbs
