Sustainable Beverage Technologies (“SBT”) makes draft beer more profitable and environmentally-friendly. Our patented fermentation process creates beer with 6 times the flavor density of traditionally-produced beer. By distributing our beer in lightweight bag-in-box (“BiB”) packaging -- instead of heavy steel kegs -- and blending with carbonated water at the point of sale using our proprietary NexDraft tap system, we generate tremendous savings in logistics, shipping costs, water usage, and fossil fuel consumption.

Your Mission

The cellar person will support our brewery, laboratory, and production team in day-to-day operations in our 5BBL production facility. A significant part of this position will involve cleaning, preparing fermentation equipment, operating sanitizing equipment, and quality assurance.

Shift Hours: 

3rd shift: Sunday - Thursday: 6:00pm - 2:00am 

Day shift: Monday  - Friday: 8:00am - 5:00pm 

Principal Responsibilities

• Perform necessary cleaning of production area, warehouse, and storage areas at SBT HQ and Sleeping Giant Brewing Company
• Clean (CIP) and sanitize fermentation vessels, brewhouse, tank exteriors, and warehouse facility
• Take lab samples
• Assist Brewers in grist / ingredient preparation and equipment sterilization
• Attention to detail during repetitive tasks
• Multitask while continuing a high standard of quality work
• Operate a forklift in a busy environment
• Load/unload delivery trucks with ingredients, equipment, and finished product
• Assist with keeping the cellar clean and organized
• Focus on quality, safety, and efficiency Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Assist with packaging line

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work autonomously
• Work varied hours and shifts
• Positive attitude and work ethic
• Can follow written instructions
• Required education and experience

Preferred education and experience

• High School diploma or GED
• 2 - 3 years in the workforce
• Forklift certificate / experience
• CIP experience
• Less than one year cellar experience

Hourly rate: $18 - $22
